This weekend’s outdoor activity was a hike come scramble up Mt Temple. At 11,626′ it’s the highest mountain in Banff national park. More to the point it’s 5,600′ above the car park where we started making it the greatest height I’ve ever climbed.

It’s Moraine Lake. From the summer of 1989 until last year Moraine Lake was firmly entrenched at the top of my all-time most fabulous views list. Then last year a young upstart burst onto the scene and took the crown: Lake O’Hara. However on Sunday the old master reclaimed the title.
